A traditional Victorian seaside pub, The Commercial has a spectacular shopfront comprising panelled and moulded stall risers, corinthian pilasters, a detailed dentil course and porticos over the principal entrances. Internally the property was heavily dated and in a poor state of maintenance and repair. JSD designed a sympathetic interior scheme that maintained the existing detailed features of the property, both externally and internally, and enhanced them through the use of bold colours, and modern joinery and metalworking details twinned with quality tiled and timber flooring and contemporary furnishings.
