The Coachman

The conversion of a tired and dated traditional estate pub into a modern bistro bar with all-day-long offers available from coffee and cake mornings, through bottomless brunch, to deli lunch and G+T evenings. The property underwent a full redesign from inside to out with the old monolithic brick and render walls being clad in burnt cedar cladding, the existing window apertures enlarged and new oak famed windows installed to open the pub up to the outside and bring daylight in. Internally the spaces created were divided up into vertical drinking areas with exposed brickwork and steel, sign-written walls and hard floors, to the softer dining areas with traditional pub features such as wall panelling, open fires and booth seating.
